Employment is obviously central to ESPEME's strategy. We therefore prepare our students for their professional life through up to 22 months of work placement during their 4-year course.
- 1st year: Introductory placement (1 to 2 months)
- 2nd year: Sales placement (2 months)
- 3rd year: Professional placement (4 to 7 months)
- 4th year: Placement based on completing a project (6 to 11 months) or a sandwich programme alternating academic coursework and in-company work during the 4th year: 1st semester 3 days ESPEME, 2 days in a firm; 2nd semester 6 to 11 months full time in the same firm.
Sales placement:
Whatever the students' professional objectives, this 2-month placement allows them to understand the relationship between customers and suppliers.
Typical Assignments:
Customer service: reception, sales, stock management etc.
Business development assistant: customer prospecting and follow-up...
Communications/marketing assistant: event organisation, search for sponsors, logistics, market studies etc...
Type of work: market study between mid-June and August
Period: between mid-June and August 2006
Duration: 2 to 3 months
Aims: discovery of client supplier relationship
Examples: assistant product manager, medical rep, assistant purchaser in an industrial company, customer satisfaction study.

Looking for employment should not be a hit and miss affair at the end of your course. The groundwork needs to be prepared from the very first year in the school. Your career plan needs to be clear, precise, specific and detailed. A result of joint reflection on your professional pathway, it will underpin your job search, and will be your guide to enable you to gain a firm foothold in the job market.
To help you construct your career plan, ESPEME's Corporate Relations Department provides an array of brochures, magazines and other literature in its documentation centre. This material will enable you to discover the many career opportunities available, providing precious information concerning the firms and today's job market.
ESPEME's academic staff will also help you to learn key skills on how to act and behave during interviews and once in the world of work. They also provide individual tutoring throughout the four years of the programme.
Our overriding objective is to help you enter the world of work, acting as a real interface between you and the company.
