Promising 2008 Intake

Published on June 12, 2008

Applications have been flooding in from around the world for all of EDHEC's Masters programmes with high profile candidates from renowned institutions setting themselves up for the next academic year.

This is encouraging news for students seeking to be part of an international classroom in September who will find themselves in an intercultural classroom with outstanding classmates.

etudiants rentree 2007The Admissions team has already dealt with more than twice as many applications as last year - a sure sign that the international reputation of EDHEC is on the increase and so far over 30 different nationalities are represented.

So far, the Theseus-EDHEC MBA  already has 11 different nationalities enrolled in the programme with countries including the USA, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Armenia, Canada and Qatar The average age of these participants is 31 years with an average of 7 years professional experience which promises to provide a particularly rich learning environment.

Figures for the Master of Science programmes show keen interest in EDHECs new Master of Science programmes - MSc in Capital Markets, MSc in Corporate Finance and MSc in Accounting and Management control, certainly due to the series of live web conferences held recently to outline the benefits and career perspectives of these programmes.

Impressive GMAT increases can be seen in the  rise of the average score in MSc Risk and Asset Management programme50 points over the requested score and currently at 700 points and the MSc in Marketing Management 50 points above the expected 550. A high GMAT average in the classroom is a sign of high potential students which in turn leads to the high quality learning environment found in schools with the three highest accreditations of quality: EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA.

The number of Master in Management students is in sharp increase compared to last year. Outstanding applications have been enrolled with the average GMAT score almost 100 points over the requested 550.  This programme's unprecedented success has meant that all the seats have been filled and applications have had to close early this year.

The deadline for applications for the MSc and the Theseus-EDHEC MBA programmes has been extended to 31st July to cope with demand which will give candidates extra time to schedule GMAT tests. Testing centres are rapidly filling up and so candidates are advised to set a test date as soon as possible

Enrolled students are already making the most of the help provided by EDHEC's International Office to find and reserve accommodation. The new Accommodation Website with its helpful photos and detailed housing descriptions is a much appreciated tool for international students preparing their stay in France. Inscriptions to the 2-week intensive French course have been as popular as ever but these places are limited and enrolled students are encouraged to sign up before the deadline of 23rd June to avoid disappointment.

Several students have been awarded financial aid by the School to help them through their study period and American candidates are taking advantage of EDHEC's recent FAFSA recognition to apply for Federal loans. EDHEC is also pleased to announce a new bank agreement that will enable international students to open an account with a French bank from their home country which will certainly reassure families and make their move to France easier.

Another initiative taken by the EDHEC team to ensure our international participants begin their stay in France in the greatest comfort includes an EDHEC pick-up service from Nice international airport to take them to their new home.

Finally, EDHEC Business School has organised a friendly Welcome Session for all new students on Day 1 to gather, inform, introduce and present - we look forward to meeting you there!
