The concert serves as an occasion for EDHEC to invite various partners in order to thank them and allows the sponsors of the event to bring along their own clients and entertain them.
The concert was sponsored by a number of highly visible firms, such as Dalkia, Banque Populaire, EDF, Cari, Crystal Mediterranee, Air France, La Poste, and was held in conjunction with Les Nouveaux Virtuoses who stage a wide range of concerts throughout France presenting the finest young musical talent.
A receptive audience was captivated by Siheng Song, a young Chinese pianist who has won prizes at some of the most prestigious music competitions throughout the world. He also given concerts at some of the most renowned musical venues worldwide. The musical programme offered an eclectic mix of music from the classical and romantic periods. The famous sonata Pathetique by Beethoven was offset against the technical virtuosity demanded by Liszt. After the interval the programme reached its climax with pieces from Ravel and Liszt-Wagner. The audience was transfixed and feedback from the concert proved particularly appreciative of the musical talent that was on display and the general organisation of the event.
The evening drew to a close with a post-concert cocktail, a particularly significant part of this event. This reception provided concert sponsors and EDHEC partner organizations with the opportunity of networking and conducting a variety of general business affairs.
