When internationally-recognized companies are ready to pay for the consulting expertise of Theseus-EDHEC MBA students, it can only mean that the programme is gaining increased respect in the professional world.
For more than 10 years, the consulting project has been a key part of the MBA programme and the high satisfaction rate of the clients who appreciate the students' astute guidance indicates even greater amplitude in the future.
Students work in multi-disciplinary teams based on their wishes and companies' preferences and a well-matched EDHEC professor is appointed supervisor of each project to oversee the working process.
This year's students are working on consulting projects in the UK and in France. They are satisfied with the scope of their projects which will they know will help them in their career projects as they deal with all kinds of real-life business problems, finding appropriate solutions with respect to the special characteristics of each client.
The originality of this year's projects is the inclusion of one MSc in each project, a collaboration that brings closer MBA and MSc students and gives the consulting groups an on-hand specialist in the field of: Finance, Marketing and Strategic Management. This specialisation complements the experience of the MBA students and results in a well-rounded and efficient work group. The consulting projects finish at the end of June with a written report and a oral presentation to professors and clients.
Yvon Bori, an MBA student working on a consulting project for a leading telecom company describes the latest stage of his group's project. "We assessed the current situation of the telecom environment, looking at incumbent companies, new entries, technological innovation and included an analysis of the business models of the different actors (from telecom, media and internet worlds), a comparative analysis of different Value Nets and a research on social trends and the evolution of behaviours. We are also finalizing a presentation that will take place in Paris. The approval of the results of our research will close this phase. The next phase will be the construction of a proposal for alternative business models reshaping the ValueNet configuration, as well as a proposal for market segmentation and some service offering proposals.
