OLYMPIA ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENT SUMMER COURSE
How can 25 young talents be carefully handpicked from around the world to attend a summer course on alternative investment for the elite - with all expenses paid? The answer lies with an exclusive partnership between EDHEC and international investment manager Olympia Capital Management....
This July, EDHEC and Olympia team up for the second edition of their summer course to be held on EDHEC's French Riviera campus. The goal of this summer programme is to improve participants understanding of the fastest growing sector of the asset management industry. Lectures given by EDHEC professors and specialist practitioners (Lionel Martellini, Philippe Malaise and Jean René Giraud) combine academic and professional experience in the industry and the supports used are based upon the expertise of EDHEC's Risk and Asset Management Research Centre.
Participants will receive an in-depth introduction to the fundamentals of hedge fund strategies and an overview of the practical aspects and potential positive and negative contributions of including hedge funds in investors' portfolios.
The selection committee recently concluded its task of filtering the numerous applications that arrived daily from all over the world and came up with a group of 25 elite participants representing 16 different nationalities. 20 of these participants come from the pool of candidates who have been accepted in one of EDHEC's International Programmes while the remaining 5 are external participants. Thanks to the 100% scholarships provided by EDHEC and the Olympia Group, all of these candidates will benefit from EDHEC's unmatched Financial know-how with all expenses paid, including flights, accommodation and tuition fees to the extent of €6000. This exclusive event is a real opportunity for future EDHEC graduates to discover not only the fascinating world of alternative investments but also the school, the campus and the city of Nice.
For Olympia Group, the sponsorship of the summer camp is a perfect opportunity to relate its name to a prestigious event and a chance to find highly-qualified candidates for future internships and job offers. The Olympia Group of Companies has been an international investment management and financial services group since 1989. It currently includes several independent affiliated companies in major financial centers employing 80 people worldwide and managing more than $4 billion of assets in investment funds, funds of funds and investment portfolios, of which more than $3.4 billion is managed in alternative investments.
The full story of the participants' experience will of course be published online following the event...to be continued!
