Celebrating the first 100 Years...
The EDHEC Gala is the highlight of the social calendar for all EDHEC students and alumni. Noone could have missed this spectacular rendezvous in Paris on the 18th March. This event, organized entirely by the students' associations of Lille and Nice was particularly impressive as this year EDHEC celebrates its 100th anniversary.
Each year the EDHEC Gala gives the chance for old friends to meet, talk about the evolution of their careers and reminisce about their student years. It is also the time for new graduates (this time of the 2004-05 academic year) to celebrate their graduation ( earlier the same the same day ) and exchange opinions on their first professional experiences.
This year the event's title was "Just yesterday I was 100 years old" to celebrate the EDHEC's centenery year, remind everyone of the grand tradition of EDHEC and also to point out the orientation of the School towards the future as the important opportunities and projects are yet to come.
The event was held in the prestigious Pavillon Dauphine in the Paris which was divided in different themes for the occasion. Guests could participate in the official diner sponsored by Ernst & Young or go to the three main halls and dance to the sounds of disco, rock and techno until the small hours of the morning. In addition, in the events area, an exhibition of EDHEC souvenirs for both sale and for admiration had been set up by the organizing team. All proceeds of this were offered to the Pasteur Institute for its battle against contagious disease.
Even though second trimester exams were just a couple of days away, a good crowd of students travelled to Paris to take part in this yearly event, thanks to the ever-helpful students' association of the Nice campus which organised low cost transport. This enabled numerous students to live another great EDHEC tradition and give them yet another night to remember.
