The first forum exclusively for international students searching for a job in France was held on the 20th of March in Paris. The goal of the event was to bring together international students studying in top educational institutes in France and locally-based companies with an international orientation; a real opportunity for non French students to find a job in France.
The idea behind this event is to give high-potential international students the chance to find their way in the French business world and to meet French-based companies willing to recruit foreign students. In a world that is changing rapidly, where more and more importance is attached to international relations and where professional mobility is easier than ever, there is an increase number of foreign students coming to study in France. Today there are about 25.000 foreign students in France, 40% of whom want to build their professional future in the country.
French companies are becoming become increasingly international and multicultural giving rise to the need to recruit more foreign students, especially those with diplomas from French institutions and who already have the experience of living in the country. These students have proved their ability to adapt to French life and have knowledge of the French way of doing business. For the companies involved, this forum is a great opportunity to meet candidates who have a strong potential to become their future international managers.
100 students studying in the best educational establishments in France were selected to go to Paris where they were given the opportunity to learn more about the companies participating. Here, in a friendly environment, the students met recruiters and had personal interviews leading to internships and even permanent jobs. Among the companies present in the forum were Société Générale, Deloitte and PSA Peugeot Citroen.
The EDHEC job forum is another annual event facilitating company contact for all international students studying in France.
