On April 7, the 2006 Theseus-EDHEC MBA Alumni Conference took place at the Hewlett Packard European Customer Centre in Sophia Antipolis. The theme was "Innovation at the Edge... How Corporations are Riding the Next Wave to Stay on Top." The speakers were world-class experts on innovation from the US, the UK, Israel and France.
The Alumni association of the Theseus-EDHEC MBA organised its annual reunion in the first week of April 2006. As usual, it was a great success with many participants appreciating its professionalism.
A one-day conference in Sophia Antipolis, the technology and business park situated close to EDHEC's Nice campus was followed by three days of events on the EDHEC site. This reunion gave MBA alumni and students the opportunity to refresh their knowledge, see old friends, make new contacts and develop their network. It wass also a chance for potential students to understand more about the Theseus-EDHEC MBA culture.
The annual Alumni meeting is not your ordinary old schoolmates' reunion. The staff at Theseus-EDHEC MBA believe that a student who follows the programme is not a one-year visitor, but rather someone who deserves a life-long relationship. Moreover it is important to regularly refresh knowledge and enjoy Life long learning. This is exactly what the annual Alumni meeting has to offer and that is why each year the event attracts hundreds of people.
For two days the alumni students followed classes to re-live their MBA experience and more importantly to improve their knowledge in business administration (particularly relating to technology and innovations). Participants were also encouraged to share professional experiences.
Among the participants were the current MBA students, who met decision makers, managers of multinational corporations and had the chance to start their own network that will help them throughout their professional career.
The refresher course was followed by a one day conference. This year's topic was "INNOVATION AT THE EDGE, How corporations are riding the next wave to stay on top." The subject was discussed by academics and professionals from both sides of the Atlantic, all of whom had extensive experience in the fields of business and technology. Main themes of discussion were Innovations, Frameworks and Tools, Innovation teams as the new unit of analysis and production and Entrepreneurs, Finance and Innovation at the Edge.
As each good reunion should not be only about work but also about fun, the closing ceremony of this year's meeting was a post-conference gala dinner by the sea, where participants could enjoy the pleasures of the French Riviera.
